The Quantek Model 905 is a benchtop, portable oxygen analyzer used primarily for the measurement of residual oxygen in gas-flushed food packages.

The Model 905 is used for the measurement of residual oxygen in food packages. With an expected oxygen sensor life of 4-5 years, it vastly outperforms other oxygen analyzers with a cheap sensor that might last 1-2 years.

Use it in the lab, or on the packaging line. While the performance and functionality is the same as our Model 901, the Model 905 is the better choice for conducting testing when the operator is stationary. This is primarily due to its tip up feet, and form factor. Also, its high end rugged metal enclosure ensures its overall durability.

HOW TO SAMPLE YOUR PACKAGES

The sample probe is tipped with a particulate filter and syringe needle. Affix the foam septa to your package, insert the needle through the septa, and press the pump button. Sample from your package is drawn through the probe and into the internal oxygen sensor.

The pump will draw about 5 cc/second from your package. The pump will run from 2 to 12 seconds and this time is easily adjustable using the controls. This adjustment is especially important for packages of varying size, or for rigid packages. The oxygen measurement displays on the LCD within 15-20 seconds.

LOWEST TOTAL COST OF OWNERSHIP

The Model 905 oxygen analyzer is the market leader for durability, simplicity, and reliability. The initial lower cost, and longer-life sensor, makes it best in class for laboratory package oxygen analyzers.

ABOUT THE INTERNAL OXYGEN SENSOR

The sensor is unaffected by high levels of background gases such as nitrogen or carbon dioxide, and unaffected by trace hydrocarbons. You can use the Model 905 for applications where oxygen level is very high (50 to 100%) without overloading the sensor.
Model 905V Pharmaceutical Vial O2 Analyzer

admin

The Quantek Model 905V is a pharmaceutical headspace oxygen analyzer. Use it for headspace oxygen analysis in pharmaceutical products – vials, blister packs, bottles, or difficult tubes of products (such as cosmetics). Achieve results with as little as 1cc of headspace.
Pharmaceutical preparations packaged in vials are often gas-flushed to provide a specific atmosphere in the vial, with defined levels of oxygen, nitrogen or other gases. Depending on the product, these vials can range in size from 1 ml to 250 ml or larger. Small vials present some difficulty for oxygen analysis because the sample volume available is often quite small. A five ml vial, for example, may have only one ml of headspace gas. For direct analysis with a pharmaceutical oxygen analyzer, the instrument must be capable of analyzing very small volumes. Our pharmaceutical oxygen analyzer is designed for this process.

While we recommend a minimum of 1mL of sample, the analyzer will produce a partial response with as little as 0.5mL of headspace. Using interpolation, the final result can be inferred – or, you can combine two samples to produce a valid, averaged result across 0.5mL samples.

LABORATORY OR PRODUCTION LINE

The Model 905V is a rugged benchtop unit housed in a heavy-duty metal enclosure, well suited for continuous use in routine QC testing in the laboratory. With built-in battery operation (optional) in addition to the AC mode, this unit can be easily transported and used at remote locations such as the packaging line.

Model 905V Key Features and Attributes

ABOUT THE SENSOR

The Model 905V sensor is designed specifically for this purpose. The oxygen sensor internal chamber has a very small volume of about 0.1 cc. The sensor is located directly behind the front panel to eliminate excessive volume. The sensor has in /out ports with a 0.03 in. ID. The vent port of the sensor connects to a short piece of narrow-bore tubing for sample exhaust and introduction of zero or calibration gases.

CALIBRATION SIMPLICITY

The oxygen sensor output is very linear through the entire range of measurement. This allows for a single point calibration to be performed anywhere in the measurement range. Span calibration is accurately done by testing room air, which should give a reading of 20.9% oxygen. Calibration standards can also be used if required by in-house test procedures.

DESIGN RELIABILITY

Microprocessor based electronics are used for sensor signal processing, battery charging and on/off control to provide high accuracy and reliability. The heavy duty, proprietary oxygen sensor is designed to provide many years of service, is totally sealed and requires no maintenance. The sensor output is compensated for ambient temperature variations.

ABOUT THE OPTIONAL BATTERY

With its low power requirement, the Model 905V can be operated with an optional battery for those applications where AC power is not readily available, or for convenience if spot checking samples at different locations. A totally sealed, long-life internal 12 Vdc gel battery accepts a full or partial charging cycle and will operate the unit for up to 8 hours. The charger module plugs into a standard 110-240V outlet for charging or continuous operation. Alternatively, the unit can be powered from an external 12-24 Vdc source.

The Quantek Model 201 is a portable oxygen analyzer used primarily for the measurement of O2 concentration in gas flows, chambers, or gas flushed hoods (such as glove boxes).
The analyzer comes with both an “open faced” fitting and a T-fitting, allowing it to be used for analyzing gas flows, or set in chambers where oxygen levels need to be monitored.

The sensor operation is not sample flow dependent, and accurate results are obtained on both static and flowing samples.

HEAVY DUTY, LONG-LIFE SENSOR

The sensor is a proprietary electrochemical type with a measurement range of 0.0 to 100%. Excellent linearity through the entire range allows a calibration with one set point using room air. It is unaffected by high levels of background gases such as nitrogen or carbon dioxide. The Model 201 can be used for applications where the oxygen level is very high (50 to 100%), without overloading the sensor. It is unaffected by trace hydrocarbons or high levels of CO2, which can poison other types of sensors, and operates independent of flow rate.

BATTERY OR AC OPERATION

The Model 201 comes in two configurations – pick either AA battery operation, or AC power operation to allow for 100% uptime.

Overview
The Quantek Model ZR1000 is a trace oxygen analyzer used for the measurement of trace oxygen in all types of inert environments. The ultra-fast zirconia sensor will respond from 1000 to 10 ppm in about 23 seconds, as opposed to other instruments which may take minutes to reach 10ppm.

This unit is powered by an AC to 12Vdc power supply/adapter, or an optional Ni-MH rechargeable battery pack, with 8-10 hours of operation before recharging is required.

Sensor Design

The sensor in the Model ZR1000 is a robust, heated zirconia element with typical lifetime of 5 years, with an excellent response to trace O2 levels down to single numbers, in all types of inert gas environments. The inlet and outlet are isolated from ambient air by double check valves on both sides, protecting the sensor from high O2 levels when not in use.

Unlike electrochemical ppm oxygen sensors, the ZR1000 sensor will not degrade when the instrument is powered off, and exposed to room air. This eliminates the need to flush the instrument with a gas such as nitrogen, and keep the instrument completely sealed from the environment.

Electrochemical ppm sensors can have a lifespan as short as 3 months, which requires constantly purchasing and installing new sensors. Even worse, if the replacement sensor is not stored properly, you may end up with a sensor that has already degraded. Our zirconia sensor eliminates these problems entirely.
